Playing with special effects for a dream sequence

In the last few days I came with a idea for a scene that would need to be a short recorded piece and then have some special effects added to it.

I thought that either Eric or Duncan would have a dream sequence where they see Amber get engulfed by flame but need to find a way of adding fire effects to video.

First I searched for how to do this on iMovie and found the video New iMovie Action Effects on Youtube which can be found if you follow the link below.

This video taught me that would need to find pre-keyed effects to add them to a video without any background. So I searched for Pre-keyed fire effects on Youtube and found a video i thought would work. It did not as the fire had a black box around it.

So I looked online so a website that had pre keyed fire effects i could download for free and found the website footagecrate.com. After looking on the site for several minutes I found what I was looking for. I downloaded one file and tried putting it in a small clip I had imported before.

The final result is below.

Or if the video doesn't work click the link below.

Through doing this short video I realised that I could easily add the effects I wanted, but would need to work out where there would be on the screen and how the actors should react to them when they happen.
